why are so many autos manufactured and sold in china? i thought the chinese has no money for cars?

more cars will be produced in china than japan in 2009, the 12 million figure states a simple yet disturbing fact that china is now world’s largest auto maker.

in the mean time, more cars will be sold in china than in united states in 2009, making it also the world’s largest auto market.

something wrong here? but the statistics is so surreal?

    Population of China: 1,330,044,544
    Population of the USA: 304,059,724

    Does that answer your question?

Why is it disturbing that China produces more cars? It is not surreal at all.

I jiust want you to realize that most everything is manufacture in china, now. No t.v.’s are from the U.S, either. Most anything you buy has been manufactured in China. As China got more and more factories, and no laws regarding polution, the skies have turned black all over China. Gov’s have talked to China regarding this, and China has replied, “it’s our sky, why do YOU care?” think about that. Also, think about what will happen in U.S. when China shuts its gates for war. We won’t have factories to make these things, and we won’t have people who know how to manufacture items! Only one factory turned China away, because they wanted to continue making rugs! That is one factory is all of rugdum!

A lot more cars are made in China than Japan because Chinese labor is cheap. That’s why so many things that are sold in the US and just about anywhere else are made in China. Cheap labor, bigger profit.

China sells a lot more cars because they’re probably cheap cars. Nobody said that the Chinese are buying Mercedes or Honda or Ford. They could be making and buying a version of the Pinto.

yeah! i am sure i can answer your question ,caz i live here !
i searched the answer above and found someone said that ” no laws regarding polution, the skies have turned black all over China. Gov’s have talked to China regarding this, and China has replied, “it’s our sky, why do YOU care?”"
now , i am asking you ” have you been to china ? , and how can you find the sky have turned black ?” , and if you havent been to china , and then sorry , you didnt get the turth !
now , back to the question ! the data showed that at the half year of 2009 , china did sell more auto than any other countries . then to give you the reason why .
well ! first china is not a rich country , but also not a poor country . and because the price of everything here is very low , and people here dont need to pay to much money in their daily life . for example , when people in developed country need a place to park their cars , they need to pay a lot , but it’s almost free in china . and other things like food ,clothes are all cheaper compare to developed countrys. so , although people here dont make much money , they dont pay a lot too . then many people can save money for their auto .
their is another reason why auto sales grow too fast in 2009 . in the past , many people can afford a car , but they didnt buy it because the tax is too high at that time when you try to keeping a car . and now the taxes are much lower , so many family prefer auto instead of bus.

There is a vast, growing middle class in China. It is now a status symbol to have a car. The bigger the better. Big black Buicks and cars like that are popular. Mercedes are also popular for the wealthier. There are also many cheap Chinese cars available. The roads have improved greatly so it is now more practical as well. It is similar to the US when the national highway acts were passed.
China has said it wants to create one or two major auto companies to compete with US and Europe. If Chinese cars ever pass US crash tests they will start appearing in America and probably very cheaply.
