Well I’ve been searching for a small car to buy and I’ve pretty much narrowed it down to the ‘08 Honda Civic and the ‘08 VW Rabbit. I am aware of VW recent reliability ratings being low and was just wondering where the ‘08 Civic was built because I remember something about Honda switching over its production site to China (which to me probably isn’t the best choice if they want to keep up their reliability). I’ve also been reading a lot of reviews at yahoo! autos of the ‘07 Civic (which would give be a better understanding of what to expect because they are older and with more miles which would be able to predict the future of the car’s reliability). And to my surprise, being that I own a ‘05 Accord 4 cyl. EX that has had zero problems up to date with 34,xxx miles on it, the Civic allegedly has had a lot of reliability issues, and that’s where the question comes in. Where was the Civic built? Any insight by 8th gen. Civic owners on fuel economy, reliability, or ownership is welcome.
p.s. I live in the U.S.
Where is the 2008 Honda Civic produced?

You didn’t specify which country you live in,but here in US they build them and Civic is good.No need to drag them from China.
Marysville, Indiana. Thanks for asking. Good luck!
for usa consumers they are made in usa and canada. honda makes them in many parts of the world for local purchase.
Kiffin answered your question. Here’s a trick when you’re at the car lot to distinguish where a car was made…
Look at the VIN. What is the first character?
1 or 4 = USA
2 = Canada
3 = Mexico
J = Japan
K = Korea
S = England
W = Germany
Z = Italy
Knowing this info is kind of fun. I discovered that my Dad’s “American” Buick was made in Canada. One of my friend’s “German” VWs was made in Germany, and another friend’s Beetle was made in Mexico. My Mom’s Ford is Mexican. My “English” Mini was made in Germany.
