I don’t think it matters much what you say, they look at your driving record.

Not necessarily. Check with the Insurance company. Many only ask back for three years. But some may want more.

Yes. They will run a check on your license and find them anyway. If you omit a few, they will usually deny you coverage.

Yes. All states are linked, so they will find out anyway.

You don’t have to do anything, it’s all on your credit report. Insurance companies all purchase that info off of a huge company out in Massachusetts. Regarding moving violations, if you didn’t take the court supervision and ultimately have the ticket(s) tossed, they’ll show up.

    There’s no way around it . . .

You can put zero on there but they will eventually get it. I did that with my insurance company, in which i didn’t have any but i added another driver and recorded no violations and etc. So when I reviewed my policy recently, I noticed a violation from 2005 on there. Just be honest!

It really doesn’t matter if you report all of them or not because they will check anyway. They ask you up front just to give you a “quick quote” but trust me….they will know EVERYTHING about you including your credit history (which will also play a role in how much your premiums are) I suggest just being honest. Most insurance companies will offer a 10% discount if you go through a defensive driving course. They will give you the information about the course.

Not parking tickets, moving violations. If you don’t tell them it will void your coverage if you are in an accident within two years (I believe it is, depends where you are)

Usually they ask the last 3, not the last 5, but yes, you do. If you don’t, it’s fraud, and they can drop you. They will find out when they run your record anyway.

Some companies do ask back 5 years but only count the past 3. Other only ask back 3 years. If you told them that you had no violations or accidents they will find out about it. They will get your motor vehicle record and also a CLUE report. The clue report will give all accidents with that vehicle (Even accidents the vehicle was involved in before you purchased it).

You want to lie to your insurance company, do you want them to lie to you?? I wouldn’t think so. Be honest with them as they are going to be with you.

Also, violations and accidents don’t show up on your credit report as someone previously said

you should, if you neglect to reveal that information, it might cost you more than what you think you will gain.

NO, sorta. If you had an infraction that was deferred or erased, you might wait to see if they have it in thier system. I opened my mouth too soon once and they counted one that was deferred. They can’t expect you to testify against yourself!
